Season 1:

“Ginny & Georgia” Season 1 kicks off with the charismatic and resourceful single mother Georgia Miller moving with her angsty teenage daughter Ginny and young son Austin to the picturesque New England town of Wellsbury after her husband’s sudden death. While Georgia quickly charms her way into the local political scene and starts a romance with the mayor, Ginny struggles to fit in at school, dealing with new friendships (the “MANG” group), a complicated love triangle involving bad-boy Marcus and popular Hunter, and her own struggles with identity and self-harm.

As Ginny navigates her tumultuous adolescence, she slowly uncovers dark and shocking secrets about her mother’s past, including her history of criminal activity and even murder, which Georgia committed to protect her children. The season builds to Ginny discovering the truth about her mother’s involvement in her stepfather Kenny’s death and Georgia’s deception regarding Austin’s incarcerated father. Feeling betrayed and overwhelmed by her mother’s dangerous secrets, Ginny takes Austin and runs away from Wells bury on a motorcycle in the dramatic cliffhanger finale.

Season 2:

Season 2 picks up immediately after Ginny and Austin run away from Wellsbury following Ginny’s discovery of Georgia’s murderous past and her deception about Austin’s father. They temporarily stay with Ginny’s biological father, Zion, where Ginny begins to open up about her self-harm and starts therapy.

Meanwhile, Georgia is desperate to get her children back and plans her wedding to Mayor Paul Randolph, hoping to solidify their new, stable life. However, her past comes back to haunt her in the form of Austin’s previously incarcerated father, Gil, who reappears and blackmails Georgia, threatening to expose her secrets and take Austin away.

The season explores Ginny’s journey with mental health and therapy, her complicated relationship with Marcus, and her strained friendships with Max and the MANG group. Georgia desperately tries to keep her dark history hidden, especially from Paul, while fending off Gil’s threats and a persistent private investigator. The season culminates in Georgia’s wedding to Paul, which is tragically interrupted when she is arrested for the murder of Tom Fuller, her neighbor Cynthia’s terminally ill husband, a secret act committed out of a misguided sense of helping Cynthia. Ginny, witnessing her mother’s arrest, realizes the full extent of Georgia’s sacrifices and dark actions.

Season 3:

Season 3 picks up directly after Georgia’s dramatic arrest at her wedding for the murder of Tom Fuller. The primary focus shifts to Georgia’s murder trial, which sends shockwaves through Wellsbury and places immense strain on her family. Under house arrest and facing severe legal consequences, Georgia must navigate the court system while trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy for Ginny and Austin.

Ginny, still reeling from the past season’s revelations, struggles with the public scrutiny and gossip surrounding her mother’s arrest. She continues her journey of personal growth through therapy and poetry, navigating her complicated relationship with Marcus, who is dealing with his own mental health issues. Austin, deeply affected by the situation, finds himself entangled in his mother’s defense.

The season explores how the trial impacts Ginny’s friendships, Georgia’s relationship with Paul (who is caught between supporting his wife and managing political fallout), and the persistent presence of Austin’s abusive father, Gil. As the trial progresses, shocking truths come to light, secrets are revealed, and family loyalties are tested. The season culminates in a tense courtroom drama with unexpected twists, leading to a verdict that drastically alters the Miller family’s future, while also hinting that Georgia’s past is far from over.
