“Murder Mystery” and “Comedy” – sounds a bit odd together, doesn’t it?
“Murder Mystery” and “Comedy” – sounds a bit odd together, doesn’t it? What kind of combination is this? Murder and scenes that make you laugh until your stomach hurts? But yes, this fantastic blend has been pulled off by none other than Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston! Honestly, when these two appear on screen, they usually fall in love, but here, instead of falling in love, they’ve entangled themselves in a complicated murder mystery, and they’ve literally made us roll on the floor laughing!
The film series itself is named “Murder Mystery.” So far, two fantastic installments of this series have been released: “Murder Mystery (2019)” and “Murder Mystery 2 (2023).”
Part 1 – A Hilarious European Jaunt!
In the first part, this couple (our very own Nick and Audrey Spitz), decide to celebrate their anniversary in grand style in Europe. Now, an anniversary usually means vows of love, romantic dinners, and photos, right? But nope! Their destiny held a thrilling mystery and the accusation of a gruesome murder! Poor souls! But then, these two aren’t ones to back down. They start their own investigation to catch the real culprit. In doing so, they create such a mess, do so many funny things, that your stomach will ache from laughing! Even though the murder is serious, you’ll forget about the crime and just keep laughing thanks to their antics!
Part 2 – Parisian Sleuthing and a New Murderous Muddle!
In the second part, our Nick and Audrey are seen literally struggling to run their private detective agency. You’d think they’d gained some experience from the previous case, but “Spitz & Spitz” is more like the “If we get a case, great; otherwise, let’s go find a hamster” type of agency! So, these two arrive at a lavish party on an eccentric billionaire’s private island. And here too, forget about “enjoying the party,” a mysterious murder happens as soon as they arrive! It’s like murder literally follows this couple around!
Yet, with their usual unique style of “finding the truth through chaos,” they outsmarted even the big professional detectives (poor police, they must have been pulling their hair out!). They uncovered the unusual method of the murder and identified the unexpected killer that no one had thought of. Once again, thanks to their disorganization, their mistakes, and yes, a little bit of luck too, they cracked the case and proved their ‘capability’ (well, we have to say they did, right? After all, we’re calling them ‘detectives’ now!).
In short, these films have murders, they have mystery, but along with that, they are packed with comedy. If you want to laugh and be thrilled by a mystery at the same time, then the “Murder Mystery” series is definitely for you!
And guess what? The adventure isn’t over yet!
